DAZ 3D Forum Archive with Images

A Problem with the DAZ 3D Forum Archive is, that the URL was changed, which makes links not work. Likewise a lot of images are not visible and some formatings are gone, instead HTML tags are now displayed. This makes the archive less usefull.

A Solution of some of the problems is Firefox with the Extensions Redirector and FoxReplace.

Redirector redirects all old links with http://forum.daz3d.com/ to the new address http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/. Its use was first described from PaulSW in the thread Hint: automatic redirect for old forum with firefox addon.

  1. Open Redirector from the Tools Menu in Firefox.
  2. Click on New Redirect...
  3. Fill the form with the following data and options.
    4. Description:DAZ Forum Redirect (or whatever description you like)
    Example URL:http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=180260 (this is only to check if redirect works)
    Include Pattern:http://forum.daz3d.com/(.*)
    Exclude Pattern:
    Redirect To:http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/$1
    Pattern Type:Regular Expression
    Unescape matches:off
    Escape matches:off
    Enabled:on
  4. Now you can save the pattern or test it.

As step 2 you can also Import the pattern, which you can download here, with right Click and Save as... .

Redirector

FoxReplace replaces text in web pages. That helps, to show most of the images (except product images from the old store and ArtZone Galleries) and to repair some formatings.

Open FoxReplace from the Tools Menu in Firefox with FoxReplace options... .

  1. Click on Import from URL
    1. Enter the URL: http://www.andyberlin.info/3d/daz_forumarchive/FoxReplace_DAZ_Forum_Archive.json
    2. Click on OK
    3. Click on Append
  2. Check Auto-replace on page load
  3. Click on OK

As step 1 you can also Import the substitutions, which you can download here, with right Click and Save as... .

To edit the substitutions or to add new substitutions

  1. Click on Edit
  2. Choose the Tab Substitutions
    1. Make your additions or edits
  3. Make sure Replace HTML is checked
  4. Click on OK
